Basketball Nba Rankings

Earlier on in the decade, the Sacramento Kings were one of the most entertaining basketball teams to watch. Just about everyone wanted to play like the Kings, and their offensive style was emulated all around the league.
A core of extremely talented players had great chemistry, and everyone who followed this franchise knew that this was a special team.
Slowly, things began to change as the Kings traded star Chris Webber before losing center Vlade Divac to the Lakers via free agency.
It seemed like the Kings were on their way down, but they continued to play somewhat competitive basketball for another season or two.
Then, the team hit rock bottom in 2008-2009. Finishing the season with the worst record in the NBA, it was clear that the once mighty Kings had fallen. The team looked nothing like its old self, and something had to be done to restore the competitive state to Sacramento’s loyal fan base.
As the team fired coach Reggie Theus and brought in the experienced Paul Westphal, many applauded this move. An experienced coach would bring a veteran presence to the rest of this young team, leading them to a better state than before.
It wasn’t until the 2009 draft where everything changed. The team selected Tyreke Evans with the fourth overall pick and this would change everything.
Evans has been a game changer like no other rookie in the league right now. Averaging over 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, his stats are better than any rookies and more importantly, his impact has been absolutely huge.
The Kings are suddenly hovering around the.500 mark entering the new year. Whether they make the playoffs or not this season almost doesn’t matter. More importantly, Kings fans know that basketball is back in Sacramento thanks to their new rookie phenom.
