Basketball Officiating Mechanics
Where can I buy a DVD showing how to officiate (referee) basketball games?
I’m looking for a DVD showing the proper mechanics to officiate a basketball game. I would like to see demonstrations of plays that would merit a violation or foul call, and then a ref making the call. Any other lessons like working the scoring table and such are a plus. Bonus if the DVD shows the difference between 2 and 3 man mechanics, but not necessary. I use NFHS rules. Thanks.
NFHS.org is the home of National Federation sports. Many DVD and videos are available to aid younger officials in developing their game and succeed in the avocation of officiating.
Also books are available with diagrams and simplified and illustrateds have cartoon pictures to aid in rules study.
These were of great help when I began oficiating as was watching as many college games on TV and in person as I humanly could.
