15 XXX Stories: Not Your Girlfriend's Erotica

15 XXX Stories: Not Your Girlfriend’s Erotica

$9.99

Leave this book on your coffee table and I guarantee your girlfriend will blush!Typically, erotica is aligned with the spirit of romance novels-dramatic and emotional with watered-down descriptions of sex. However, in the tradition of erotica written by men, such as the Marquis de Sade, this book contains more mechanical, visual descriptions of sex with less melodrama.Author Prendergast reveals erotic thoughts and dreams within the most random characters–a single mother, a priest, a French art historian, a goth teenager, an exotic voodoo-practicing duchess, an uptight English barrister, and a sassy black nurse. All of these combine to make for an enjoyable, genuine read with subtle humor and fun, sexy encounters. In the opening story, “Birth of a Slut,” Prendergast begins hard and bold with a group of basketball players pulling a double train on two hot, fit college girls. One is a sweet, loyal “good girl” whose man has recently cheated on her, while the other is an inimitable slut, the amazing, sexually-insatiable Katie who is both disarmingly charming and shamelessly promiscuous. Read only this first story, wanker, and you will be hooked.

Nicknamed the “shelltoe”, “shell shoes” or “shell tops” for its rubber shell toe piece, its iconic design is known for being one of the major influences in the sneaker culture.History When the shoe was introduced, it was the first low-top basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper and the now famous rubber shelltoe. With its rubber toe protection and non-marking sole, the shoe caught the attention of some of the best players from the NCAA and NBA , most notably Kareem Abdul Jabbar . Within the first few years of its introduction, the Superstar was being worn by over 75 % of all NBA players; proof of its revolutionary technology which remains relevant today. Over the course of the next few years, it would advance from the court to the sidewalk and, consequently, further into the public’s consciousness. In 1983, straight out of Hollis, Queens, came Run-D.M.C. , a rap group that refused to conform to pop standards by deciding that they would dress on stage the way they dressed on the streets. The trio was most notable for wearing the Superstars without any laces and pushing the tongue of the shoe out,

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Beirut

$3.99

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Beirut is a quirky look at international basketball from Saudi Arabia to Hungary and on to Beirut with an American coach as the guide. It’s hard to coach a team when your players don’t show up. Mafi muscula. Hard to make air flights without reservations. Mafi muscula. Can’t tape ankles without tape. Why isn’t Darrin here from the States yet? Mafi muscula. Can’t understand these Hungarian menu forms…we could starve. Mafi muscula. We’re almost out of tea. Mafi muscula. In Arabic, mafi muscula means “no problem.” But a better definition is probably: “no problem for ME, big problem for YOU.” Saudi Arabia is where mafi musculas start, but they don’t end there. From Saudi it’s on to a training camp near Budapest then onward to Beirut for the basketball championships of the Eighth Pan Arab Games. Some funny things happen along the way. And there, too. Author Bio: In addition to coaching and writing in the United States, Pat Stewart has coached basketball in 9 other countries and has traveled around the globe several times. Married, with 2 children, he is currently the National Team coach of the Gulf State of Kuwait.

It is an exceptionally well-written, well-researched, and balanced book that should be read by anyone interested in the present and future of college sports.”–Myles Brand, President, the National Collegiate Athletic Association”As someone who has coached girls and women at many different levels, I’ve seen the ways that Title IX has changed the landscape of athletics. A Place on the Team provides an engrossing and thorough look at how this legislation has affected and continues to shape women’s sports.”–Sylvia Hatchell, Head Coach, University of North Carolina Women’s Basketball”A Place On The Team is the definitive book on Title IX and will be required reading for every person–certainly for every coach, athletics department official, and university administrator–interested in the topic. Its presentation of the history is clear, cogent, and exhaustive.”–Murray Sperber, Indiana University”This book gathers in one place all the important information on historical, philosophical and legal aspects of women’s sports. It enlivens this with interviews with the major players in the field and with real life stories that bring the major issues home to the reader. What’s more, it recognizes the difficulties women’s sports programs will continue to face as the cost of providing intercollegiate athletics rises.”–Elsa Kircher Cole, General Counsel, National Collegiate Athletic Association

How did forty-seven , mostly gritty, blue-collar towns on the edges of four counties outside of Pittsburgh, produce such an unparalleled wealth of sports accomplishments?Sports journalist George Guido attempts to answer that question in his meticulous 300-plus-page compilation of stories, stats, and incredible photos that made the A-K Region world famous. How many people know that New Kensington sent the first black quarterback to the NFL, that Vandergrift once had a professional baseball team, or Bell Township, a female high school football coach. How about the Pittsburgh industrialist who designed only one golf course in his life—the world-renowned Oakmont, or the fact that one Aspinwall High School football team went the entire season without giving up a point. “Nothing ever came easy. There were obstacles to overcome,” writes Guido, but overcome, they did. Take New Kensington’s legendary football coach Don Fletcher who led the Red Raiders to such success in the late ’40′s that the Ken-Hi team was invited to Florida to play in Miami’s Orange Bowl stadium. But when Ken-Hi was told it was welcome only if it left its two black players behind, the team voted to decline and the great Fletcher told the promoters what they could with their invitation. Then there was the Highlands High School basketball team that lost 41 games in a row during the early 1990s. Change came, however, when the district hired Saint Joseph High School coach Rich Falter and by 1995 the underdog Golden Rams shocked the WPIAL basketball world with a victory over the Blackhawks at Duquesne University.”In everything you do—be a giant.”These are the words of the football wonder that was Willie Thrower, whose story Guido writes with reverence and eloquence. And there are others in the book like Burrell graduate John Brown, whose touchdown on a 33-yard pass from Dan Marino gave Pitt a victory in the Sugar Bowl in 1982, making

Excerpt: Earl “Yogi” Strom (December 15, 1927 July 10, 1994) was a professional basketball referee for 29 years in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and for three years in the American Basketball Association (ABA). Strom is credited as the greatest referee in the history of the NBA and was known for his flamboyant style and ability to control the game. Nicknamed “The Pied Piper”, the assertive Strom made foul calls with his whistle by using a “tweet-pause-tweet-tweet” tune and pointing at the offending player. In addition to calling fouls with flair, he was known for ejecting players from games with style and he sometimes supported his rulings with physical force. Over the course of his career, he officiated 2,400 professional basketball regular season games, 295 playoff games, seven All-Star games, and 29 NBA and ABA Finals. For his extensive contributions to the game, Strom was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995. Strom was born December 15, 1927 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania to Max and Bessie Strom. Earl’s father, Max, was a foreman at a bakery, and Earl grew up in the household as the youngest of seven children comprising five boys and two girls. As a child, he became interested in athletics and competing in sports, and this interest lasted throughout his childhood and into high school. At Pottstown High School, Strom played football, baseball, and basketball. After finishing high school in 1945, he joined the United States Coast Guard towards the end of World War II. Returning from service, Strom attended Pierce Junior College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1951. Following school, the young Strom continued participating in sports and played for a local semi-professional basketball team in his early 20s. Durin… More:

Those who avidly followed the on-court acrobatics and off-court celebrity of the “Dream Team” in Barcelona in 1992 would hardly recognize what passed as Olympic basketball fifty-six years earlier, when the United States first played the game in the 1936 Olympics. In those early days of men’s Olympic basketball, many teams lacked basic skills, games were played in the pouring rain, only seven players could suit up, and the rules allowed only two substitutions and no time-outs. How this slow, low-scoring sport became the breakneck game that enraptures millions worldwide is the story of American Hoops. In this fascinating history of Olympic basketball on the world stage and behind the scenes, Carson Cunningham presents a kaleidoscopic picture of the evolution into the twenty-first century of one of America’s most popular sports. From clashes between celebrated egos and thrilling action on the court to the intense rivalries of the cold war and technological advances in everything from television to off-court sports equipment, American Hoops follows the fortunes of Olympic basketball in the United States and internationally as it developed and emerged as one of the most challenging and entertaining sports in the world.Cunningham traces how the modifications made by the International Olympic Committee and the International Basketball Federation have transformed the game of basketball over the years, from the Berlin to the Beijing Olympics. His book offers a remarkable view of the changing world through the prism of Olympic sport.

It was released as a download-only title on April 17, 2009 for the iPhone OS and on December 28, 2009 for the Nintendo DSi via the DSiWare service. This was the first game developed and published by Skyworks Interactive. The game is similar to the basketball minigames found in arcades and midways. In the game, players use the iPhone or Nintendo DSi device to attempt to score as many baskets as possible within 45 seconds. This involves players having to hold the basketball by touching it on the touchscreen and then shoot the ball by flicking toward the top of the touchscreen. The game involves three different modes of gameplay – shooting from short distance, from medium distance, or from the three-point line. The game has a feature in which the highest scores in each mode are saved. The game also gives players the option to either shoot at a stationary basket or at a basket that moves back and forth toward the player.

Asphalt Gods: An Oral History of the Rucker Tournament

$10.58

The real basketball deal–the inside story of Harlem’s legendary tournament and the pros and playground legends who have made it world famous.Earl “The Goat” Manigault. Herman “Helicopter” Knowings. Joe “The Destroyer” Hammond. Richard “Pee Wee” Kirkland. These and dozens of other colorfully nicknamed men are the “Asphalt Gods,” whose astounding exploits in the Rucker Tournament, often against multimillionaire NBA superstars, have made them playground divinity. First established in the 1950s by Holcombe Rucker, a New York City Parks Department employee, the tournament has grown to become a Harlem institution, an annual summer event of major proportions. On that fabled patch of concrete, unknown players have been lighting it up for decades as they express basketball as a freestyle art among their peers and against such pro immortals as Julius Erving and Wilt Chamberlain. X’s and O’s are exchanged for oohs and aahs in one of the great examples of street theater to be found in urban America.Asphalt Gods is a streetwise, supremely entertaining oral history of a tournament that has influenced everything from NBA playing style to hip-hop culture. Now, legends transmitted by word of mouth find a home and the achievements of basketball’s greatest unknowns a permanent place in the game’s record. From the Hardcover edition.

Excerpt: A basketball is an inflated ball used in the game of basketball. Basketballs typically range in size from very small promotional items possibly only a few inches in diameter to extra large balls nearly a foot in diameter used in training exercises to increase the skill of players. The standard size of a basketball in the NBA is 29.5 inches in circumference. Nearly all basketballs have an inflatable inner rubber bladder, generally wrapped in layers of fiber and then covered with a tacky surface made either from leather (traditional), rubber, or a synthetic composite. As in most inflatable balls, there is a small opening to allow the pressure to be increased or decreased. The surface of the ball is nearly always divided by “ribs” that are recessed below the surface of the ball in a variety of configurations and are generally a contrasting color. An orange surface with black ribs and a possible logo is the traditional color scheme of basketballs but they are sold in various colors. Balls are generally designated for indoor (generally made of leather or absorbent composites), or all-surface use (generally made of rubber or durable composites, also known as Indoor/Outdoor balls). Indoor balls tend to be considerably more expensive than all-surface balls due to cost of materials. In addition, brand new all-leather indoor balls must be “broken in” first to achieve optimal grip before use in competition. The abrasiveness of asphalt and the dirt and moisture present in an outdoor setting will usually ruin an indoor ball within a very short period of time, which is why an indoor/outdoor ball is recommended for recreational players. Aside from the court and the baskets, the basketball is the only piece of equipment necessary to play th… More:

Excerpt: Carlos Austin Boozer, Jr. (born November 20, 1981) is an American professional basketball player and an Olympic gold medalist currently with the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. Although born at a military base in Aschaffenburg, West Germany, Boozer grew up in Juneau, Alaska, in the US. As a child, Boozer and his father practiced outside at his local middle school, throughout the cold Alaskan seasons. He attributes his physical and mental toughness to these sessions. He attended Juneau-Douglas High School. Boozer was married to his wife CeCe for over six years before he filed for divorce in March 2009, although the two are reportedly trying to reconcile. Boozer has three children. He also has a younger brother Charles who is also following a career in basketball and is currently playing for Iowa State. Boozer was a two-time member of the PARADE All-American high school basketball team, leading the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears to back-to-back state titles. He was recruited by many top-tier collegiate basketball programs, including St. John’s and UCLA, but Boozer elected to play for coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke University, helping the team win the 2001 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. In 200102, Boozer, Jason Williams, and Mike Dunleavy, Jr. each scored at least 600 points for the season, a feat only matched at Duke by Jon Scheyer, Kyle Singler, and Nolan Smith in the 200910 season. Boozer declared for the 2002 NBA Draft, relinquishing his final year of NCAA eligibility. He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the NBA draft, where he played two full seasons. Boozer averaged 10.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg in his rookie campaign, and followed it up with 15.5 ppg and 11.4 rpg his second year while pla… More:

Excerpt: The Harlem Globetrotters are an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater, and comedy. Created by Abe Saperstein in 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the team adopted the name Harlem because of its connotations as a major African-American community. Over the years they have played more than 20,000 exhibition games in 118 countries. Brother Bones’s whistled version of “Sweet Georgia Brown” is the team’s signature song. Globie has been their mascot since 1993. There is no clear consensus as to the very beginnings of the Globetrotters. Hinckley, Illinois was home to the first Harlem Globetrotters game on January 7, 1927. In 1928, several players left the team in a dispute over bringing back other players who had left the team. That fall, several players led by Tommy Brookins formed a team called the “Globe Trotters” which would tour Southern Illinois that spring. Abe Saperstein became involved with the team, though to exactly what extent is unclear. In any event, by 1929 Saperstei… More:
