Excess Violence in Sports, such as Hockey, Rugby, Basketball etc..! Help!?

It is argued that sports players enter the game consenting to the violence that accompanies the game. Is there such a thing as “excess violence” in a sporting event or do players consent to any and all violent acts when on the playing field?

Please give supporting answers and sources. Points will be awarded

For Starters Hockey is the only one of those sports you wont get kicked out of for fighting second obviously there is a limit, you cant brutally maim another player to an inch of his life.

Excerpt: Senior club appearances and goalscounted for the domestic league only.* Appearances (Goals) Andrew Peter “Andy” Martin (born 28 February 1980 in Cardiff) is a retired Welsh footballer. He is a former Welsh Under-21 international and played in the Football League for Crystal Palace, Torquay United and Hereford United before dropping into non-league football. Andy Martin was educated at Corpus Christi High School in Cardiff. He was a proficient sportsman who excelled in basketball and track and field, and captained the school’s Rugby team (which also included future Newport RFC prop Dai Pattison and Telford Tigers’ ice hockey forward Joe Miller) to the final of the Welsh National Schools Competition in May 1996. However, it was in football that he came to prominence after he was selected for the Wales Under-19s that year, and was spotted by a scout from Crystal Palace, of whom he was an avid supporter in his school days. A year later, Martin began his career as a trainee at Crystal Palace, turning professional in the 1997 close season. He made his debut on 3 April 1999, playing in Palace’s 1-0 win away to Norwich City. He made two further appearances at the end of that season. He was a regular squad member the following season, although played only 18 times. He did however score two goals for Palace that season, the first coming on 26 December 1999 as Palace lost 2-1 away to Charlton Athletic and the second on 5 February 2000 as Palace lost 2-1 away to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Martin found himself out of favour in the 2000-01 season, playing just once for Palace, in a 0-0 draw at home to Tranmere Rovers in the League Cup when he came on as substitute for Fan Zhiyi with just four minutes of extra-time remaining. This was to be his final first… More:

More Fun and Games

$18.27

Anthony Dowson is back with More Fun and Games. The book he coauthored in 2005, Fun and Games, was a big hit with teachers, coaches, and all activity leaders who work with kids. Dowson's new book continues the premise from the first book—that children's physical activity games need to be fun and creative as well as developmentally sound. But Dowson doesn't stop there. For each of the 100 new games this expert physical education teacher and coach offers, he adds a pop-out box that notes the skills and fitness components the game will help kids develop. More Fun and Games covers warm-up, cool-down, and multisport games, as well as games for the following sports: soccer, cricket, basketball, tennis, netball, rugby, volleyball, badminton, and hockey. Each game includes information on equipment required, rules, and coaching advice. The games are easy to set up, require minimal equipment, and come with suggestions for adapting the games to suit not only the size of your group but also the skill level. And you can easily find the right game for your group by using the game finder section. These entertaining games and activities maximize participation while developing key skills, such as decision making, teamwork, attacking, and defending. By developing the technical skills they need in order to succeed in sports, kids will also develop greater self-confidence and enjoy their sport participation all the more. The games are crafted to help the kids stay focused, remain active, and have fun. The result is that they develop not only their motor skills and sport-specific skills but also positive attitudes toward physical activity. They'll have loads of fun with these games and want to come back for more, and they'll be on their way to establishing lifelong physical activity habits through More Fun and Games.
