Is traveling, and carrying still a violation in the NBA?

I watched the Lakers/Nuggets game last night and Anthony must have traveled at least 8 times that wasn’t called. On the other side, Kobe carries every time he “dribbles” the basketball. Why has the NBA allowed this crap to take over the game while they go and call BS fouls and make rule changes that are snowball rules created from their previous crap rules put in place.

“contact’ is right about the carrying. AI couldn’t dribble without carrying. Now it’s so common that point guards walking the ball up the floor ungarded are carrying the ball. Sad. No fundamentals are taught. Makes me sick everytime i see a so-called ‘crossover’. There isin’t a player in the leauge that can do one without carrying the ball.( tim hardaway used to be able to)

And traveling? Forget it. They all do it. I would bet that most of todays players don’t even know what it actually is because they see it done and not called so often they are confused when it is called. Sliding pivot feet, never establishing a pivot foot, too many steps, hop steps AFTER picking up a dribble, etc…… all are traveling. Again, so many of today’s players are so fundamentally bankrupt that they wouldn’t be nearly as good as they are supposed to be if they had to play by the actual rules.

In a few years from now the nba will be so devoid of actual basketball fundamentals and skills, it will be nothing more than a glorified “and one’ league.

The other night I watched lebron make a so-called “post’ move. He spun right, left, right and then spun backwards and took a fall away jump shot. I went back and watched it in slo-mo…..by the time he took the shot, his “pivot foot’ was about 1 1/2- 2 feet away from where he actually established the position. If that’s not traveling ( and it must not be, because it’s done 50 times a game, by 25 different players) then they should throw the rule book away.
