The Rotary Sunshine Club is an activity club which has served the youth of Springfield for over 50 years. November 14, 2009 there will be a Tri- Star Basketball skills contest located at Springfield College. This exciting event will take place at 1:00 p.m. and will end at 6:00 in the evening. This contest will be composed of the three most significant skills used in basketball which are passing, shooting, and dribbling. These basic skills will be evaluated. Both boys and girls can participate in this activity. They will compete in five age groups, 8 through 13, against their own age. Be sure to bring a pair of comfortable gym shoes. Winners in each age category will be given basketballs. This contest is free of charge. Each contestant can pick up entry blanks at the Rotary Sunshine Club or the MFA Employees Credit Union, on 2909 Falling Leaf through November 11.
