Simply stand on a ledge, or something slightly off the ground, and with half your feet off the ledge rise up and then slowly go back down. Make sure you have weight on your shoulders too!
Box Jump: Once you are incorporating strength training exercises such as the two I mentioned above, you need to do some plyometrics and this is a great exercise for this. Stand on a box, jump off and then explode off the ground as high as you can. Spend about 15-30 minutes doing this as repetition builds muscle memory which will lead to an increase in your vertical jump.
