Basketball Training Camps
Got game? Or, maybe you prefer to watch from the sidelines. Regardless of whether you enjoy shooting hoops or watching players take the court for an exciting match, there is no shortage of basketball action in Northern Texas. When you stay in Frisco for your vacation, you have access to professional quality sports and facilities, so you never have to leave home and miss out on a great game.
Shoot from the Line
Frisco is known for its many basketball camps, where kids and young adult can hone their skills and shine on any court at the high school or college level. Lady Prodigy Basketball, based in the area, serves to help young women better their performance for team tryouts. The camps are aligned with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and offers NCAA certified events.
Another local organization, Fieldhouse USA, offers programs for boys and girls. Teams and play schedules are held throughout the summer with the focus on good health and sportsmanship. Because the organization works with several sports throughout the year, it’s best to contact them ahead of time to know when their basketball season starts.
Root for the Home Team
Did you know Frisco has a minor league pro basketball team? The Texas Legends are part of the NBA’s development league, or D-League, which consists of seventeen teams around the country. The Legends are the farm team of the nearby Dallas Mavericks, and when you attend a game at Dr. Pepper Arena you have the opportunity to see the NBA’s future stars shoot for the win!
Frisco is also the home of the Southland Conference in the NCAA Division I for all college sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. If you’re lucky, and if Frisco is hosting, you may be able to catch a showdown of the best team in this division as they play for the Division Championship.
