one question about basketball and weight training..?

young kids should normally not sacrafise the time practicing on the court to go weight train. U rather want them to spent, lets say an extra hour shooting on the court than an extra hour in the weight room.
But at what age do u think players could/should go lift weights for an hour or 1 ½ instead of shooting more out n the court, cause if wanna play at high level u gotta do some strenght training as well..?

At about 15-16, you don’t really wanna see buffed kids that are like freaks of nature, though training the legs would be good and wouldn’t hurt. Strengthening of the legs allows a player to be explosive, jump higher, quicker and everything else that good legs brings. Though little training or weight lifting wouldn’t hurt in a young age, a lot of lifting would hurt cause you’d rather have a kid learn the basics and have basketball experience.
