Cancun Real Estate – National Bowling Event & Activities for Everyone

When Americans and Canadians buy Cancun real estate, the main motivation for doing so is usually the beautiful beaches; a very close second, however, are the modern services, activities and events which residents can enjoy.

The events which this city hosts range from ritzy, Hollywood promotions to international women’s soccer, or, most recently, a national bowling event, showing that there is a very wide variety in events which suit all tastes.

The Bicentennial Bowling Tournament, a special event to help commemorate the country’s 200th anniversary from the beginning of the Independence movement, took place during the week of October 30 to November 6, and included over 250 clubs from throughout the country.

This kind of event not only serves to make add a variety to activities for residents, but helps to make Cancun properties one of the prime choices in Mexico and beyond for Americans and Canadians living abroad. A wide variety of sporting options and events has proven to improve an urban atmosphere, maintaining the pleasant atmosphere which Cancun has been known for, and helping to prevent social problems among the working class neighborhoods.

The bowling tournament included 215 competitors aged between 14 and 60 years. 47 were women and the rest men. The list of participating states include Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Mexico City, Mexico State, Michoacan, Puebla and Yucatan, among others, as well as the two universities IPN, UNAM.

Activities began on Saturday October 30 at 10 AM. The organizing committee intends to bring the national championship event for the senior category to Cancun as well. This kind of event would help bring further activity possibilities to the growing population of American and Canadian retirees in the Cancun area.

While the focus of the event is clearly national, many expats participate in local sporting clubs, ranging from chess clubs to basketball teams or kids’ baseball organizations. This kind of participation is welcomed by the locals, and helps build a stronger tie in a community which crosses nationality and income level barriers. Some expats participate without knowledge of Spanish, since knowledge of the sport or activity is enough to get buy, and the basic vocabulary can be easily learned from context.

Americans and Canadians who love the idea of living on the beach will find something for their tastes in Cancun, whether it’s gourmet and glamor, or baseball and bowling; those who love the beach will most certainly fall in love with the lifestyle Cancun real estate offers them.
