Canadian Football Basics
How do you play football?
This may seem sad, but I’ve never really learned how to play it. I love the game a lot, and I’m looking to go to practice next time, but I was just curious as to the basics of football.. I know what you have to do and such. But like what’s the offside rule, and positions and what-not. I’m talking about Canadian/American football, not soccer or English football.

11 guys on both sides of the ball, defense can be located anywhere on the field on the opposite side of the ball. Offense HAS to have 7 men lined up on the line of scrimmage. Width of the ball before ball is snapped = neutral zone. No one can cross it until the ball is snapped. Ball can be moved around basically anyway by throwing it forward or backwards behind the line of scrimmage and be advanced either way by running or passing beyond the line of scrimmage. But once the player has passed the LOS it cannot be passed. 4 tries to get 10 yards at a time. 6 points for a TD, 3 for a FG, 1 for a point after touchdown, 2 for a safety or a two point conversion after touchdown or returned 2pt.
