How Many downs are in Canadian football and what happens if you punt the ball into the end zone in the CFL? (First to answer both correctly gets best answer)

3 downs to get 10 yards for a new first down.
If you punt the ball into the end zone:
1) if the ball travels through the end zone and exits at the rear or sides, then 1 point is awarded and the the ball is placed at the 35. (So-called “rouge” – a term used only by Americans)
2) if the ball is caught in the end zone then it must be run out. If the ball carrier is tackled (or drops to one knee) in the end zone, then a rouge is awarded and the ball is placed on the 35.
Same rules apply on Kick Off and unsuccessful Field Goals.
