Curling Stick Rules

What kind of chemical hair straightening (other than Japanese) is best for me?
I have wavy hair that I usually scrunch with mouse or other curling stuff.
I’m getting sick of it wavy and can never get it to look good straight (static, frizz).
I don’t want my hair to be pin straight with no body and stuck to my head. I’m especially concerned b/c I don’t have very thick hair.
So, I’m looking for something that will allow my hair to air-dry straight with some shape and without frizz and static.
What do you guys have/recommend? (I’ve ruled out Japanese b/c it’s so straight and flat and I also don’t really want to spend 400 dollars).
I’m not sure what you can do. Most chemical straighteners are meant to make hair as straight as they can, and since your hair isn’t even curly, it might make it very straight (unless I misread your question and you really do want it super straight). You might be better off just finding some good products to control the frizz in your hair. They do exist! Look into that. It should save you money too. Your hair will still be wavy that way, so it will have shape. Avoid blow drying your hair because that will add frizz.
I paid to have a chemical straightening done on my hair. The lady told me that it was about a good as Japanese straightening (but it was only about $80) so I decided to let her try it on me. It was a complete waste of money. My hair ended up frizzy, and not straight at all. I’d much rather have left it how it was. PLUS I lost all of that money. Didn’t get any of it back. I’m not saying that will be the case with you….but if you’re looking to get your hair completely straight, be careful for what you choose. Your hair is thin so that kind of thing might work better than it did on my hair. Do your research though. Make sure that whatever they do is permanent where it won’t wash out. Be sure the person doing your hair has enough experience with it also.
Go to your salon and see what they have for chemical straighteners and see if they could just put in on your hair for a shorter amount of time where it won’t make it completely straight, or just ask them what they suggest and if they think it will work, or just waht will be best for you to do.
