There are many Canadian actors on the internet but here I am going to talk about the most known people born in Canada till now. In the world of humor & amusement, Jim Carrey is the most famous Canadian ever known and always talked of. Jim Carrey was born in a small town of Newmarket in the region of Ontario to Kathleen. Jim Carrey became known for his roles in the movies such as Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. His part in “The Truman Show” and “Man on the Moon” were awarded with separate “Golden Globe Awards”. Almost certainly that is the reason for Carrey to be in all time famous people from Canada.

Then let’s talk about Terry Fox, he may not be much famous around the world but he’s certainly among the famous Canadians. Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer in his leg in 1977, got his leg cut and was given an artificial leg, he was being treated, but still doctors said he had 50% chances of living. He went through chemotherapy and physical therapy and when he realized what little research was carried out in Canada relating to cancer, he was seriously shocked. At that time he decided to run a “Marathon of Hope” across Canada to raise the money for cancer research, but after running for 143 days, Terry’s doctor told him, his cancer was back and had spread to his lungs.

Terry died before he was able to complete the marathon, however, he was able to hoist $23 million aid for research on cancer in the country. The new research center on cancer in the region of British Columbia was initiated with this aid. Now, every year on the death centenary of Terry, many schools and communities organize “Terry Fox Run” to hoist money for research on cancer in the country.

Everyone is familiar with Canadian obsession with hockey, especially ice hockey, so, talking about a hockey player among famous Canadians is of critical importance. Every Canadian is familiar with the name of Wayne Gretzky; he was a great asset to National Hockey League (NHL). His birthplace was the city of Brantford in the province of Ontario, Canada. From small age, Wayne was a much better hockey player and played well than any other member of his team. He does not have any physical advantages like he was not strong, fast or big which might have helped him in the game, but he had an amazing understanding of the game. He always seemed to know where the puck (ice hockey ball) was coming from or which direction it was going to move to and somehow he was always there to stop the ball or play it in the right direction. The entire career of Wayne is free of errors.

During his era in NHL, Canada won the championship four times. He got 30 other trophies beside these championships; he used the jersey with the number 99.
