Hockey Puck To Face
is softball or girls lacrosse more dangerous?
On january 24th i got hit in the face with a hockey puck while watching a game. I fractured my sinus and another part of my cheekbone. On the 28th i went to the doctors and they said i was out of sports for 6 weeks and i will be 30% healed. i am used to a busy schedule and am always involoved in a sport for every season. i do cheering in fall, summer and winter. i normally play softball in the spring but i wasnt sure whether lacrosse would be a better choice because of the goggles that are required to be worn. any suggestions to whether softball or lacrosse would be a better choice? thanks.
Sorry to hear about your accident. As for softball vs lacrosse, I would think softball would be better. In lacrosse, even though you wear a facemask, there is more contact between the girls. Sticks fly, and can accidentilly hit you pretty hard.
And since you play softball, you know you would wear a facesmask when batting (if not, I would suggest starting to). And in softball, there is less of a chance for direct contact to the face. The only position in softball, which you might get a little more face contact is as a catcher. But, anything else would probably be a freak accident.
