Kiss Me, I’m From Marshfield…
MARSHFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS… While it’s far from usual for people to don green on St. Patrick’s Day, sports franchises like the Boston Red Sox have sold green t-shirts and hats to get into the spirit of the holiday. This year, Pre-Game Sports, Marshfield’s premier sporting goods retailer located in Webster Square, has gotten in on the act by selling custom-designed “Kiss Me, I’m from Marshfield” t-shirts.
Available in men and women’s sizes small through extra large, the green lettering on white shirts are made from 100 percent pre-shrunk cotton. In addition to these shirts, Pre-Game will also be selling the Irish themed Red Sox wear.
“Since we do a lot of shirts, jerseys and hats for Marshfield and Duxbury sports teams, green is already kind of our color,” said Lisa Seyffert, co-owner of Pre-Game Sports. “Creating the ‘Kiss Me I’m from Marshfield’ and selling the Red Sox shirts are just our way of really getting into the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.”
The green theme doesn’t end with apparel at Pre-Game Sports. They also sell Shamrock lacrosse pads for players getting ready for the upcoming outdoor lacrosse season. In addition, Pre-Game regularly carries batting helmets and catcher’s equipment—mask, helmet, chest protector and shin guards—in green for the local teams.
“You don’t have to be Irish to wear green on St. Patty’s Day, though it certainly doesn’t hurt,” said Seyffert. “At Pre-Game Sports, green really is more our official Marshfield color and if you’re looking to celebrate your town pride as well as St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve got you covered.”
Besides “greenwear”, Pre-Game Sports carries full lines of equipment and accessories for all the major sports—football, baseball, basketball and hockey—as well as the up-and-coming—soccer and lacrosse as well as paintball and indoor games. Pre-Game also carries fan gear for all the Boston sports teams.
Beyond products and apparel, Pre-Game’s offers skate-sharpening services for the hockey and figure skating crowd and silk screening and embroidery services for local sports teams and companies. Pre-Game has a “no order is too large or small” policy, which is evident in the range of customers who take advantage of this service—from Clean Harbors Environmental Services to local swimming clubs to family reunions.
Pre-Game Sports is an active member of the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and heavily involved with youth organizations in the Town of Marshfield, like the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity.
