Lacrosse Drills For Beginners
lacrosse? beginner needs help!?
i am a beginner and im gonna try out for the jv team in high school in like 2 months. how can i prepare? im awesome at throwing and aim. what drills can i do for catching and running? i have like no endurance or wind capacity. how can i build it up? how far should i run? how long should i practice?
Hey man, congrats for getting into the best game ever!
That is good that you are already really good at throwing. But you need to be able to do EVERYTHING WITH BOTH HANDS! If you want to succeed in tryouts, and impress your coach, then be able to pass, catch, cradle, shoot with both hands.
Lacrosse is a very endurance oriented sport, so start running. You should start by running about 1 or two miles 3 times a week, then work up to 2-3 miles 3 times a week.
If you are already good at your right hand, then spend THE WHOLE WEEK practicing with only your left hand. Do not even think about holding the stick in your right hand for a week. It is amazing how much this works!
Good luck on your tryouts!
