The LaCrose, CTS And SRX Have Been Improved By GM
General Motors has revamped a few cars in their lineup with some exterior touch ups and engine boosts and as a result these cars are now better than ever. The economy may be down but GM keeps producing high performance vehicles. Here are a few of the autos that have received a recent makeover.
Buick LaCrosse – The all new LaCrosse has been given a makeover by Buick and now boasts a more modern and up to date exterior. Buick has had quite low sales figures domestically but overseas Buick is GM’s #1 brand in China. This is more than enough to ensure the Buick will stay in business. The interesting fact is that the LaCrosse boasts appeal to both young and older consumers alike. In an attempt to appeal to the younger demographic, Buick has gotten rid of the old tired designs and come out with a LaCrosse that sports a new look fresh and contemporary exterior complete with all new sheet metal.
The La Crosse CTS is equipped with a 250 hp V6 engine with front wheel drive and has an estimated base price of around the $27k range. There’s the top of the line CXS model which costs $33k, has a 280 hp engine borrowed from the Camaro. This trim is also equipped with an all wheel drive. The CTS receives gas mileage at 17 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the freeway. A plethora of amenities have been included such as keyless entry, climate control, heated seats, USB compatibility, and upgraded Harmon Kardon premium audio system, display screen and so much more. The suspension is also tuned by European engineers in an attempt to keep up with all of its competitors including the German automakers.
Cadillac CTS – I had the opportunity to inspect the new CTS sports wagon for myself in person. The new CTS sports wagon is a good looking vehicle. The styling is distinct and definitely commands attention on the open road. This auto was very well received by consumers and Cadillac has a plan to cash in on every segment possible with not only the wagon but the coupe version due out soon. The sedan has become one of the most dependable vehicles according to GP Powers.
The premium model is installed with a robust 304 horsepower and 273 lb-ft. torque engine with rear or four wheel drive. Base price comes in at $40k. Cargo space has been increased significantly by 13.6 ft. in the sedan to 25 ft. inside the wagon. With the rear seats down though the interior cubic foot space jumps to a monstrous 53 feet. For your convenience there is a power lift gate included.
Cadillac SRX- Previously, the SRX wasn’t a huge hit for Cadillac. Cadillac has revamped and dressed up the SRX and gave it a fresh look and it’s a vast improvement over the older model. Gone are the third row seats and the V8 engine which is a gas guzzler. The SRX has been transformed to a true crossover sport utility vehicle. The cabin has a ton of CTS styling while the exterior gets a makeover all its own. Opt for the 300 hp 295 ft-lb torque engine with all new drive. The cost for the base model is around $34k. With the new touch ups and changes, the SRX is ready to go head to head with the best of the best in the highly competitive crossover SUV market.
