The complex is situated on 54 acres of land in the northern section of Phuket, Thailand. The preeminent youth soccer training programme is also based at the highest regarded sports and recreation PIASLC complex. Famous BSS is based upon Futebol de Salao (FDS). The training and game is characterized as a 5-a-side version of football with origins in Brazil. FDS is played with a smaller (size 2), and slightly heavier (465gm) ball that has virtually no bounce to it.
The PIASLC has also confirmed an association with the US-based IronKids programme. This partnership will support four junior Triathlon events per year as well as training camps for kids aged between 6 and 15.
The PIASLC has brought in former professional tennis player David Roberts as Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations at the large Phuket, Thailand sports centre. David offers experience in both operations and pre-openings. He has run elite private sports clubs while with Centara Hotels and Resorts Group. When the PIASLC completes construction in November and begins into full operations he will be focused on the co-ordination between club services, sports academies and membership programmes.
