Soccer Questions Game

Soccer game question, please help!!?
It is going to be REALLY hot, high humididty and low cloud coverage for my soccer game in about 2 hours. Is there any way you know of that i can stay cool? Even when i am playing?
Drink a lot of water before.. that way you are already hydrated, theres not much you can do while your playing.. i try to think about snowy places.. it works for me
maybe have some fruit at half time. Also if you really really focus on the game and thats it you dont notice the heat as much, dont think about it.

Statistical Thinking in Sports $57.95 Since the first athletic events found a fan base, sports and statistics have always maintained a tight and at times mythical relationship. As a way to relay the telling of a game’s drama and attest to the prodigious powers of the heroes involved, those reporting on the games tallied up the numbers that they believe best described the action and best defined the winning edge. However, they may not have always counted the right numbers. Many of our hallowed beliefs about sports statistics have long been fraught with misnomers. Whether it concerns Scottish football or American baseball, the most revered statistics often have little to do with any winning edge. Covering an international collection of sports, Statistical Thinking in Sports provides an accessible survey of current research in statistics and sports, written by experts from a variety of arenas. Rather than rely on casual observation, they apply the rigorous tools of statistics to re-examine many of those concepts that have gone from belief to fact, based mostly on the repetition of their claims. Leaving assumption behind, these researchers take on a host of tough questions- Is a tennis player only as good as his or her first serve? Is there such a thing as home field advantage? Do concerns over a decline in soccer’s competitive balance have any merit? What of momentum-is its staying power any greater than yesterday’s win? And what of pressure performers? Are there such creatures or ultimately, does every performer fall back to his or her established normative?Investigating a wide range of international team and individual sports, the book considers the ability to make predictions, define trends, and measure any number of influences. It is full of interesting and useful examples for those teaching introductory statistics. Although the articles are aimed at general readers, the serious researcher in sports statistics will also find the |

Taking Le Tiss $13.95 The fascinating, insightful, and at times hilarious memoirs of one of the most gifted and enigmatic British footballers of the last 25 years Nicknamed “Le God” by the Southampton faithful, Matt Le Tissier was not cast from the same mold as most professional Eureopan footballers. He was a one-club man in a 16-year career that brought little in the way of trophies but countless plaudits from soccer fans and commentators alike. To the vast majority Le Tissier was a maverick to be treasured, a flair player who lit up every match he played in and delighted fans with his sumptuous technique. Did he simply enjoy the comfort zone of being a big fish in a small pond, or did he display commendable loyalty in staying with Southampton for his entire career? Were England managers right not to pick him so many times? Would Fabio Capello pick him for England now? Does the British game discourage his style of play? How much would he be worth in today’s transfer market? Here is the great man’s first chance to answer all these questions and many more. |

The Science of Soccer $37.27 For the first time ever, science gives us the answers to questions like “what’s the chance of a team that wins the League or Premiership also winning the Cup? Can you predict how many goals will be scored? What’s the best height for footballers? Is the winning team the best team?” The Science of Soccer is a fascinating book, dealing with a wide range of subjects where scientific analysis can be applied to football. Starting with a qualitative description of the basic physics that relate to the ball and its bounce, the author then moves through kicks and throws to a simple account of the more complex physics of a ball in flight. Fulfilling your scientific curiosity, this book uncovers aspects of the game that are not normally discussed. It includes a look at game theory, how the rules affect the flow and enjoyment of the game, why the best team does not always win, unusual statistics about players, and an insight into the economics of the game. |

You Gotta be Kidding!: The Wacky Book of Mind-Boggling Questions $0.01 Why should grown-ups have all the fun? From the author of Zobmondo!!, the adult party book of outrageous choices, comes You Gotta Be Kidding! Adapted from the hugely popular board game, this interactive and completely engaging book serves up hundreds of bizarre, embarrassing, sometimes ethical and sometimes stomach-churning dilemmas that kids will love to pose to their friends and siblings, whether in the backseat, on a sleepover, at a party, on a rainy day, or during a lull in the lunchroom (if you dare).Ponder the icky: Would you rather eat 10 pounds of cheese-OR-a bucket of peanut butter—with nothing to drink? The exponentially icky: Would you rather drink liquid found leaking from a garbage can-OR-chew on a hairy clump found between the cushions of an old couch? The fantastic: Would you rather be able to talk with all animals-OR-be able to understand all languages? The priority-testing: As a soccer player, would you rather mess up and score a goal for the other team but still have your team win-OR-play your best game ever even though your team loses? And the hair-raising: Would you rather swim across a river that is filled with crocodiles-OR-spend the night on an island where man-eating tigers live? Fascinating sidebars throughout are filled with interesting ancillary information—the nature of drool, left-handedness vs. righthandedness, what’s dangerously filthy and what’s just gross, why we blush when we’re embarrassed—that will help kids make their choice. |
