Top 20 sports in America!
There are some good ones here, and the top 5 are in the right places, but i am not sure about the rest, what do you think?
- American Football – Good luck getting bored and falling asleep watching this.
- Baseball – This is sometimes referred to as the number one sport, but American football gets more of an audience.
- Basketball – A massive sport in America, not to be overlooked, it has earned its place here.
- Hockey – Just like America, this sport is never boring or monotonous, always something new.
- Golf – Well what made this big, let me think, oh yeah – Tiger Woods.
- Wrestling – On the TV every weekend and the occasional big fight, this is watched all over America.
- Tennis – Now this may not be as popular as American Football, but it definitely a great sport.
- Skateboarding – America really started this up as a sport, now it is worldwide.
- Surfing – Although the Australians claim this, America brought this to life.
- Ice Skating – This has been a major sport in America, although it is often overlooked.
- Boxing – What a money grabber, unfortunately it doesn’t happen enough around the year.
- Soccer – Needs more work, but this sport is beginning to grow, the Americans just need a little shove.
- Archery – This seems to be something the Americans have excelled in, they have got a massive amount of medals from it.
- Volleyball – Now I am not entirely sure who invented Women’s Volleyball but i would like to shake their hand.
- Cycling – Has been in the sport world for a while now, and has taken off, but not as much as others.
- Athletics, or Track and Field – A big one for Americans, they always take strong hold in the Olympics.
- Horse Racing – This may be a British Sport, but the Americans have taken it to a new level.
- Rock Climbing – This is a great sport, and fun for everyone even indoors, Alain Robert has helped things out with this.
- Extreme Sports – The sports in this category have always grasped the nation, not always in a good way.
- Auto Racing – Is very popular, but it doesn’t come high because of the different opinions across America.
Which of these sports doesn’t deserve to be here? Can you do better? What a great way to find out – try Las Vegas holidays or New York holidays to really find out

The Fix: Soccer and Organized Crime $18.95 The Fix is the most explosive story of sports corruption in a generation. Intriguing, riveting, and compelling, it tells the story of an investigative journalist who sets out to examine the world of match-fixing in professional soccer. From the IntroductionUnderstand how gambling fixers work to corrupt a soccer game and you will understand how they move into a basketball league, a cricket tournament, or a tennis match (all places, by the way, that criminal fixers have moved into). My views on soccer have changed. I still love the Saturday-morning game between amateurs: the camaraderie and the fresh smell of grass. But the professional game leaves me cold. I hope you will understand why after reading the book. I think you may never look at sport in the same way again. |
