Canadian and Japanese Income Tax?
So, I will be going to Japan on May 2011 on a working holiday visa for one year. On my 2011 income tax for Canada, do I have to report and get taxed on my earnings while in Japan? I am a Canadian citizen.
Tax is based on your country of residence.
If you are a resident of Canada, you file a Canadian tax return and pay tax on your worldwide income.
If you are a resident of Japan, you file a Japanese tax return and pay tax on your worldwide income.
Happy Birthday Canada 2011
